I agree with Dee. The easiest way to start with kids is to buy lots of the fruit they like and let them go. We started with an all fruit breakfast as one of the earlier steps. What fruits do they like? Bananas are good because of availability and they also have a fantastic nutritional profile.
Hi Stephanie, Welcome to Raw Island! You might want to invite Ellen as your friend because her kids are now raw too! She's a great gal and can probably throw some ideas your way.
One of the easiest, is to let your kids eat as much sweet juicy fruit as they want. Even consider making complete meals from fruit, not just one piece as an in-between meal snack. Volume is key, since it takes more to equal the amount of calories they might get in something else. Just play with it and do experiments.. if you or they are still hungry, eat more. But just figuring out how to add fruit MEALS will get you headed in a good direction. You don't even need variety.. if they love bananas... 2 or 3 or 5 won't hurt them! It's probably more the concept of fruit as a meal that's a challenge because non of us were ever taught that.
You'll find lots of tips and ideas on here very shortly when more people have joined. I encourage you to start a Moms support group... there are many many more just like you!

About Me:
I'm a mom first and foremost. My whole life and all of my decisions are based on my family. I want to eventually change over to a raw-organic lifestyle and incorporate meditation, qi gong, and yoga. I do my own personal studies presently and will branch out to more community oriented study habits for the new year. My family are very unsupportive well, more reluctant so this new way of life is a slow process for me.

How can Raw Island help you?
I would really like ideas that are children-appealing and tasty.
Favorite Raw Recipe:
I don't know about raw, I found a great organic coconut butter cookie that was a smash during the Holidays
80/10/10 raw vegan recipes use fresh fruits and/or veggies and may contain a very small amount of raw nuts or seeds. Please do NOT use salt, oils, dehydrating, heating or dried anything. See how easy it is to keep it simple & eat so wonderfully!
no problem!
